Why Does Character Matter? (Our Focus on Kindling a Love of Virtue)

Character is the expression of one’s innermost being: the convictions, beliefs, and essence of “right and wrong.” When one’s character lacks formation, freedom is misguided and liberty is unattainable.

At East Hills Academy, we kindle character formation both through modeling and explicit instruction. We embrace compassion as we teach young students how to make choices that benefit both themselves and others. Furthermore, we intentionally press into the tension of accountability and partner with parents to communicate areas of character formation where students are receiving additional support.

We desire for all East Hills students to be people who express their character through relationships, integrity, service, and excellence.
