At East Hills Academy, we want students to engage in a way that helps them truly see, know, and care. This philosophy shapes both our academics and the relationships we build with students and families.
First, we want students to see. Through our Core Knowledge curriculum, students are exposed to a wide variety of ideas, cultures, historical moments, and perspectives. Because students revisit these topics year after year, their understanding deepens as they grow.
Next, we want students to know. As they engage through discussion, reflection, and meaningful learning experiences, students move beyond simple exposure toward deeper understanding and mastery. We want students to grow in curiosity, confidence, and wisdom as they learn.
Finally, we want students to care. Education is about more than academics — it’s about developing character, empathy, and a sense of purpose. We hope our students grow to appreciate the past, engage thoughtfully in the present, and feel equipped to impact the future.
This same philosophy guides the way we partner with families. As Director of Community Engagement and Enrollment, my goal is not simply to help families enroll at East Hills, but to build genuine relationships with y’all. I want to get to know your family, understand your child’s unique strengths and needs, and walk alongside you throughout their educational journey. I want you to not just feel seen, but heard and known.
Our teachers also are supported by a strong curriculum and instructional team so they can focus primarily on excellent teaching and delivery and not be bogged down by curriculum development in the classroom; this allows them ample time to focus on building meaningful relationships with students each day. We believe students thrive when they feel known, supported, and cared for individually.
At the heart of everything we do is the belief that relationships matter. We know every family’s story is different, and we want East Hills to be a place where your family feels welcomed, valued, and supported. This is our Care value implemented in real-time relationally throughout the year.
I look forward to getting to know your family and partnering with you in your child’s education.
