Park Hops: Why We Offer Popsicles in the Park

Last week, we talked about how “See, Know, and Care” is a huge part of our core values at East Hills Academy and how relationships are central to who we are as a school. If you didn’t get a chance to read that blog, be sure to check it out here. Our goal this year, starting now, is to make sure every student and every family feels seen, known, and cared for. One of the best ways we can begin building those relationships is by spending time together before the Fall 2026 school year even begins.

Earlier this year, we hosted a jump-around and trampoline event at Elevate Trampoline Park, which we intend to use as one of our future bus stop locations. More than anything, we simply wanted to have fun together, meet families, and start building relationships. We want you to get to know us as staff, and we want families to begin building connections with one another, too. Strong communities take time, and we’re excited to begin building that foundation together.

This summer, we’ll be hosting several events for enrolled students, as well as families who may just be hearing about East Hills Academy for the first time. One of the main ways we’ll do this is through our Park Hops, usually combined with popsicles, because why not? Come hang out at the park, enjoy a treat, and spend time getting to know other families and our staff team.

We’ll be posting dates and times for different parks throughout the summer. Come to one event close to home or join us for all of them. We’d love to continue building momentum toward our Founding Year and create more opportunities to connect with your family.

You’ll find us at Memorial Park near Prospect Lake and the beach, where we’ll have a pop-up tent, drinks, popsicles, and plenty of space to relax and play. Bring your swimsuit, paddleboard, or sandcastle supplies and enjoy the lake with us. We’ll also be at Nancy Lewis Park, where there’s lots of open space for cornhole, ladder ball, and playground fun. And later this summer, we’ll pop up at Lunar Park, where we can enjoy the basketball court and playground together. By then, we’ll likely have our bus too, which means we may even turn it into a bus party!

Whether you stop by for 30 minutes or stay for the whole event, we’d love to spend time with you. We’re excited to continue building relationships and creating a school community where families truly feel connected and supported.
